Sunday – Snapshot
I caught up with Kelli, my friend who is the illustrator of my book. She’s super busy with life these days. Not only is she working, but she is also studying part time. Being an artist, she loves sketching. It relaxes her. I totally get that. Do you?
It’s when we get to do what we love, spend time on our passion, that we are able to lose ourselves in it. But of course, there are only so many hours in the day, and all the other responsibilities catch up with us.
It was lovely to catch up. We always laugh together. We talked about all kinds of stuff and shared the usual corona info too, as everyone does these days. I shared my desire to go visit her this summer. Or maybe she can come here? Or we could meet halfway? Let’s see.
And she shared a sketch she’d done. It’s just a sketch, she said. She painted with watercolor, used pencils and even charcoal on this paper.
Here you get to see a snippet of it. And part of the text that goes on this page…
In the warm rising sun, just outside of his house
sits a critter at peace. It is Maxwell, the Mouse.
That’s it, sweet friends. I wish you all moments of peace, good health and joy. May you lose yourselves in a passionate project.
