Tuesday – Talented, Truly Talented

Tuesday – Talented, Truly Talented

My friend Kelli is from California and lives in Sweden. We met more than 20 years ago when we lived there -at an English-speaking playgroup for our kids. She is an artist. We quickly became friends and have kept in contact over the years. She and her family have visited us and we have met up in Sweden. But not often enough, of course. Now I’m speaking with her regularly over Zoom.

That’s because she is the illustrator of my first children’s book that I’ve been working on. Well, she already illustrated the Swedish version of it that I printed more than 10 years ago, but now I’ve rewritten it in English. And now I’m doing this thing seriously, man!

Kelli agreed without hesitation to illustrate my book. She loves drawing and painting. But these things take time of course. Especially when you also work, study and have a family, So, while I patiently wait for her to do her magic, I wanted to share with you a few of her other paintings. She made these for me several years ago.

I commissioned her to paint illustrations that have or would have appeared in famous children’s books. Do you know the author? I know some of you do. I love these paintings. They are hanging in our sons’ bedrooms.

I really admire artists who can paint. It’s a talent to cherish. And I’m grateful to have a few very artistic friends. Take care sweet friends. Be well and let your talents show.
