Saturday – Special Surprises
I hope you have had a wonderful week. I certainly have. I’ve spent time outside with friends I haven’t seen for long, spent a day with my mom visiting a new place, went to a surprise party for a good friend and, and, and…but the strawberry (yes, better than cherries on…) the cake was when I received over 30 funny pictures of Bertie Bunny on my phone from our son Kaj when I checked it in the morning, AND five minutes later, my phone rang and it was Kelli who called. She said: “I finished all the illustrations!”
Kelli was on a roll. I could tell because I’d been getting messages saying things like “the second spread is done,” and “finished spread number 6.” I could tell she had clear focus. She was inspired and obviously feeling better.
Kelli had been unwell for some time and when we don’t feel well, we can’t create as well. But she feels better now and I’m so happy for her!
So, the black portfolio you see in the photo below will be arriving at my house soon, filled with the beautiful illustrations Kelli has been working so hard on. I can’t wait!!
Next step: booking time with my digital designer who has agreed to do the work of designing my book! Woohoo!! This artist is also in Sweden (like Kelli) and has an amazing portfolio of artwork she has designed. I look forward to speaking with her soon so we can figure this stuff out!
In the meantime, Bertie Bunny keeps on entertaining his fans and hopefully bringing in more admirers. Can you see how busy he’s been with Kaj (our middle son) in the North of Spain? Yes, he’s been helping out at a hotel near the beach close to Gijon. It was very scary at first (for Bertie, that is). In fact, at first he only stayed in his room for many many days. He felt anxious. How the heck, he thought, was a little bunny like him going to get over his fears of meeting new people who speak a language he doesn’t understand, serve breakfast, clear tables, do dishes and everything else? Well, let me tell you how.
He remembered that he was well supported by Kaj. This is a very calm, funny and comforting young man who loves helping others. Kaj also showed Bertie how he can restore his calm and sanity by going to the beach, lying in the sun, mindfully breathing in the fresh sea breeze and spending time playing games.
If you’re on social media, you will have seen photos of Bertie Bunny in his different activities. Here are a few for you.
That’s all the news from my side. I look forward to connecting with you, if you feel like writing. And if you can think of anyone else who might enjoy the stories, Bertie Bunny and would like to know when the book comes out, please do share this link or/and my social media links. Take care of your sweet self and until next time!
