Sunday – something special

Since my book came out, I have been busy on and off with book readings in different schools but I can’t say that I have sold as many books as I thought I would during those visits.

However, that doesn’t bother me so much. You see, my main focus while I go do book readings in schools (apart from seeing the students) is to spread the word about Mindfulness.

As you know, if you have read my book, the message is that practicing mindful breathing (or any of the many other kinds of mindfulness exercises) can help to calm our worries. It can turn into a real super power.

I know that many young people are anxious and I know that having a regular mindfulness practice can help them feel more calm, focused and achieve greater confidence. So I have been working on building up a business around this. But that has not been the only thing on my mind either.

Ever since I started my journey of becoming a self published children’s book author, I wanted to be able to sell the book all over the world. And Amazon is one way to do that.

But that part never got done when my book was formatted digitally. And that is the part that has been bugging me for months. I just kept on putting off figuring it out. But then I did start.

Step by little step, I realized that if I wanted to have Amazon do “print on demand” through their KDP program, I would need to have the book reformatted! Argh!! More thinking and reflecting on whether I really want to have that done. And how? Who can do it for me? Is it even possible before Christmas? (The image below shows Bertie Bunny reflecting on some deep issues too, can you tell?)

My lovely book designer, Briet, had no time, she said, at least not now. But I reached out and asked the awesome community (Miriam Laundry’s masterclass) where I took the course on how to become an author. So many people offered their advice and help. And finally, I found a guy! On a platform called Fiverr.

He is currently working on redoing the format so that it will work with Amazon. And that way, more people can read it!! Fingers (and toes, please) crossed that it will all work out!!

And then, I will need your help too.

Here comes my question to you:

Would you like to help me? Would you, when the time comes, be willing to give me a five star review on Amazon on the day that I launch the book there? Why would this be important, you ask?

Well apparently, if enough people rate and review the book as a great book (obviously, if you feel that way) then Amazon will give it a “best seller” status. And that is great for marketing!

Oh, I almost forgot, guess what else?

Our local book store (Payot in Vevey) will carry my book!! I am so happy for that chance!! It should be on their bookshelves next week!! Look out for some more marketing being made around that on my social media channels.

In the meantime, have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, if you celebrate.

We celebrated with good friends.

What is better than family and friends? Those are the things in life I am most grateful for. Bertie Bunny couldn’t agree more!

Be well, take care of yourself and those you love.
